When it comes to brushing teeth your technique is as important as your consistency. The three most important things to keep in mind are:
Don't press too hard
Take your time
Brush your tongue too

When cleaning something we tend to associate a little elbow grease with a job well done. We scrub floors and stains so why not take the same approach to our teeth?
The first problem with hard brushing is the potential damage that you can do to your gums. Your teeth are extremely hard and tough but your gums are not. Your gums prefer a soft massage over a hard scrubbing.
The second issue is accuracy, you can't accurately get all the knocks and crannies around your teeth if your effort only put into pressure. It's better to softly scrub all the areas of your mouth instead of hard pressure only applies to the tops and sides.
Take Your Time
About two minutes is the recommended amount of time you should spend brushing your teeth, but what we are really looking for is quality not quantity. Brushing teeth is such a regular occurrence in our lives we tend to take it for granted, spending the time thinking about other things or admiring ourselves in the mirror.
When brushing take the opportunity to slow down and make sure you are getting all the angles and sides of your teeth. This deliberate approach will go a long way toward insuring the longevity of your chewing tools.
Brush Your Tongue
More than just clean teeth what we really want is a clean mouth and that means brushing your tongue too. Give it a good massage with your tooth brush at the end of each session and you'll notice a real difference in how your mouth feels.
Brushing your teeth can seem like a mundane task sometimes but remember that it is an opportunity to increase your health and quality of life. The good news is it only takes a couple minutes!
